Our founders.

Our story began very little.

Piccoli began with an educational app. So how did it become the home of an award-winning plush toy? We created the plushies as a complement to the app because children need to hold their horses — not their mobile devices.

Our Piccoli Zoo app is growing up — And will get it's own website and toys.

The Founder who loved her children

It all started with Kimberly Rogers’ kids: Anna and Dylan.

Anna fell in love with horses when she was 6 years old.

After three neurosurgeries by age 5, Dylan learned English like it was a foreign language.

Kimberly took what she learned from each of her children and created Piccoli, a play-based toy company.

The Co-Founder

Co-founder Dr. Leslie Satchivi is the neurosurgeon who operated on Dylan.

Born in West Africa, he grew up under parents who valued education.

He and his mother translated Piccoli’s initial app into French. He’s also working to update the app for Piccoli Classi.

Dr. Satchivi currently practices Pediatric and Adult Neurosurgery in Illinois.

The neurosurgeon who made it a reality

Leslie Acakpo-Satchivi, MD, PhD, was the Pediatric Neurosurgeon who preformed Kimberly's son's third neurosurgery.

Born in West Africa, Dr. Satchivi came to the United States with his parents and two brothers when he was 5 years old.

"Whenever I travel, I spend time familiarizing myself with the language of the places I visit," says Piccoli Co-Founder, Dr. Satchivi, who is fluent in English and French.
